This is the first oil painting I ever made. The original was a cutting out of a catalog of collector’s plates, and it was only about 4 inches high, so it was hard to see. My art teacher was paralyzed from the neck down and painted with his mouth. He started me off by showing me some simple brush, mixing, and color-matching techniques. A small area directly above the nostrils is his work, bless his soul.
Original by Susie Morton.

I don’t usually post on monthly prompts, but this month’s theme of senses and their stimulation/deprivation was just too perfect. Blackout depicts a woman in a state of nearly complete sensory deprivation. Her senses of sight, taste, and smell are out of the picture, and her sense of touch is restricted: she may not touch, she may only be touched. This type of restrictive play requires an immense amount of trust, and so she presents herself, blind, deaf, and mute, to be experienced and to experience the boundless freeing that can only come from being bound. Do you dare?

This is a replica of an idea based on a study of perspective I saw in a children’s book when I was a kid, and it occurred to me that it would be awesome to make something similar. I have no idea about the original, its artist/title/whereabouts, and I don’t even really remember what it looked like. Of course, it goes without saying that dinosaurs are hella sexy.

This is not a replica of a painting but a graphite-and-ink line art representation of a photo of an emo singer back in the genre’s 2000-ish glory days. To my discredit, I couldn’t find the original photo or who it is or what exactly he’s saying, but it probably has something to do with his profound care of and desire toward his fellow bandmates. Which is sexy.
The simplicity and intensity of this piece makes it one of my favorites I’ve ever done.

I learned to draw at 14 by using colored pencils to replicate the work of famous artists that I admired. This series is called Replicas, and it will be all about my early attempts.

‘Soft Watch at the Moment of First Explosion’ Replica
SexyLittleIdeas.com – Erotic Art Series
Previously – M&M

This is a time lapse video of a replica of a Salvador Dali painting that I was asked to produce. I understand the usual naked women are absent, but I find something very erotic in an exploding melting watch observed by voyeuristic insects. (Or at least I did before spending 36 hours with it.) The naked women will be back in force next month.
Medium: pencils (color).
Size: 18 X 24 in.
Canvas: high quality thick pastel board.
Original painting time: over 36 hours.
